Left side is more elevated than the right. You have to use your imagination a little bit because the mane is in the way, but I think you can still see.
The majority of Emma’s rides have been in our western saddle (McCall Northwest Wade). But given the inequity in her shoulders, I’m switching to the dressage saddle (older Kieffer Rhein AT) because where it sits on her back is actually pretty even. Unfortunately, the Kieffer could use a little work – it’s past due for a reflock and the billet leathers are worn. So – safety first. Of course, the repair estimate is literally more than I paid for the saddle. And it’s a 3 week turnaround time. I’m thinking about using a local saddle fitter instead of shipping it off, one of the benefits being that she could fit it better with Emma right there. The downside is, I’m afraid I might get talked into another saddle. Regardless, some groundwork and longeing is in the cards for a little while. And on the subject of longeing, I also dropped off the longeing cavesson at the leather repair shop to have some fitting modifications done.
